ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL | SCIENCE INSTRUCTOR
Dr. Sibani Sengupta serves as Assistant Principal and teaches Biotechnology and Human Gene Discovery. She holds degrees in physiology, biophysics and molecular biology, and biomedical sciences, completed postdoctoral research at the University of Connecticut, and earned a graduate certificate in curriculum, instruction, and assessment. During 22 years at SHA, she has been recognized with numerous state and national teaching honors, including Connecticut’s Outstanding Biology Teacher Award and repeated selection as a Summa Scholar Teacher Honoree. A published biology educator with expertise in genetics, biochemistry, and molecular biology, she views SHA as a place where each student begins her own Excelsior journey, discovers her passion, and realizes her dreams.
