APPLIED STUDIES DEPARTMENT CHAIR | ASSISTANT ATHLETIC DIRECTOR 

Kim Curbow chairs the Applied Studies Department, teaches physical education and health, serves as Assistant Athletic Director, and moderates the senior class. She holds a B.A. in Sociology and Gerontology with a minor in psychology and has completed a teacher certification program. Kim brings 35 years of experience in education, including 33 years at SHA, as well as varsity and junior varsity coaching experience. An SHA alumna, she is passionate about helping students thrive as she was supported during her own years at the Academy. She also values SHA’s encouragement of service, including her volunteer work with the Gary Sinise Foundation’s Snowball Express.
