SOCIAL STUDIES DEPARTMENT CHAIR 

Susan Allen chairs the Social Studies Department and teaches dual-enrollment AP U.S. Government, Honors U.S. History, and college-preparatory U.S. History. She also co-moderates Student Council and moderates the musical’s prop crew. Susan holds bachelor’s degrees in history and political science from the University of Connecticut, has completed 30 graduate credits in history and political science at Southern Connecticut State University, and holds AP Summer Institute certificates in U.S. History and U.S. Government. During 23 years at SHA, she has most valued the genuine community formed through classroom experiences, student activities, families, and alumnae—relationships that deepen over four years and endure long after graduation.
