Lauren Bruchansky '10 Returns as a Science National Honor Society Speaker

January 21st, 2022

On Tuesday, January 18th, SHA's Science National Honor Society welcomed the third guest in this year’s Speaker Series. Lauren Bruchansky '10. Lauren, a Lead Software Engineer at Gartner, shared how her passion for this field began at SHA where she took an AP Computer Science course her senior year of high school. Thereafter, she completed her undergraduate degree as a double major in Math and Computer Science from Fairfield University.

Lauren gave students insight into how impactful internships during college can be and personally how they helped pave the way for deciding what she did and did not want to pursue professionally. Ultimately, partaking in a rotational program at Gartner, Lauren was fascinated to continue her career as a software engineer from this experience.

Working as a woman in a traditionally male-dominated field, Lauren optimistically indicated that recently there has been a shift with more women joining this type of work and that she was proud to be a part of that change.

SNHS thanks Lauren for teaching us about the possibilities of an information technology (IT) career. Look for information about the next speaker coming soon!
