2022-23 New Advisory Board Members 

 

This academic year we are excited to welcome three new alumnae to the Sacred Heart Academy Advisory Board. The purpose of the Board is to promote and advance the mission of the School by offering expertise, and guidance in key areas of school leadership. We are grateful for the commitment, time and talent that our Board members bring to this leadership role in support of the Academy.  

 

Joyce Comer ‘70 is a proud graduate of the Class of 1970. After SHA, Joyce attended UCONN, earning a undergraduate degree in Pharmacy and completed a doctoral degree in pharmacy at Creighton University. Joyce worked as a clinical pharmacist and consultant throughout her career. She was also an associate professor for the School of Nursing and School of Pharmacy at the University of Connecticut. Currently, Joyce is enjoying retirement living part of her time in CT and part in Naples, Florida. She is an avid volunteer, spending much of her free time supporting the Connecticut Humane Society as a photographer. Joyce is also passionate about the mission of Sacred Heart Academy and women’s education and is excited about joining the Advisory Board and engaging in strategic work to continue to strengthen the future of the Academy.  

 

Renata Paterson ’95 holds a BA in Political Science from Assumption University and currently lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland. She works as a Senior International Officer for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. Renata began her Intelligence career in 2000 as an Imagery Analyst and over the course of her career, has served in a variety of external positions, including NGA’s Representative to the White House Situation Room and Deputy NGA Liaison to the National Intelligence Council. From 2015-2020, Renata served as NGA’s first Senior Liaison Officer to the Nordic Region, based out of the American Embassy in Oslo, Norway where she oversaw strategic and operational objectives for the NGA’s partnerships in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.  

 

Sara Harris ’97 is looking forward to her 25th SHA Reunion this year as well as reconnecting with the School at a deeper level through her involvement on the Advisory Board. Sara holds a BS and MBA from the New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business. She resides in New York City and is a Senior Vice President at Moody’s Corporation, co-leading a technology organization tasked with building ESG (environmental, social and governance) products and solutions for capital market participants globally. Sara is also the leader of the Moody’s Workplace Mentoring Program with Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York, partnering with Eagle Academy for Young Men in Brooklyn, NY to provide mentoring and college prep curriculum for high-potential students. She is the former co-chair of Moody’s New York Women’s Employee Resource Group, where she led initiatives that elevate and empower women via programming, mentoring and professional development opportunities. Sara is also a member of the Women’s Bond Club of New York.
