  • What is a typical day at SHA?

    The day begins at 8:00 am and ends at 2:10 pm. Students attend four 80-minute classes per day on a rotating block schedule that was developed for more instructional time in classroom, and more time for students to complete their homework.

    Clubs and activities typically meet from 2:15 – 3:00 pm, and practice for sports begins at 3:00. pm. Students are welcome to use the library or school center for homework or study time while waiting for afternoon transportation.

  • How do I apply to SHA?

    Students at all grade levels can create a profile on our website to initiate the application process. Based on current grade level, a checklist will be provided to guide each individual through the entire application process.

    All students applying for grades 9 and 10 must take the Sacred Heart Academy entrance exam. For upcoming test dates, please contact the Admissions Office.

  • Is transportation to SHA provided?

    Bus service is available for many towns in the area at an additional fee. Details regarding bus service vary by location. This information can be found on our Transportation page.
  • Are Scholarships and/or Financial Aid available?

    Financial Aid is available and is partially funded by the school endowment, operating funds and through the support of loyal alumnae benefactors. Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional academic promise and are determined based on their entrance exam.

    Need-based financial aid is available for applicants who qualify based on factors including household income and number of students in schools that charge tuition.

    Each year approximately 40% of our students are awarded scholarships and/or financial aid. Information regarding the financial aid application process are detailed on our website.
  • How do I know SHA is right for me?

    There are many ways to get to know SHA through our Experience Excelsior programs including our seasonal Open Houses, SHAdow Days, private tours, or one-on-one meetings with our Admissions Staff. Spending time with our students and faculty and experiencing how our community comes to life is the best way for you to determine if SHA is the right fit for you.
