Mrs. Mehinovic and SHA Students Perform!

Hamden Symphony Orchestra is an all-volunteer community Orchestra beginning its 60th year and is currently under the direction of Vesna Mehinovic, SHA’s choir and orchestra director and music teacher. On Saturday August 28th, the Orchestra had its first in-person performance in over a year, outdoors at Hamden Town Center Park. The program was titled "Hamstock" and included music selections from 1744 all the way the current pop-charts. Joining the Orchestra for this special summer program were Sacred Heart Academy students, Gianna Gassira on Flute and Chloe Oraa on Violin. Additionally, two other SHA students were featured as vocalists during the performance. Megan Doyle accompanied the Orchestra on Leonard Cohen's "Halleujah". Natalia Frangipane sang "Wonderful Worlds" a medley of two different versions of "Its a Wonderful World" made famous by Louis Armstrong and Sam Cooke.
Congratulations to the Hamden Symphony Orchestra for their first performance in over a year and to the SHA students and Mrs. Mehinovic for their participation!
