SHA Field Hockey Back on Track with Huge Day at Shelton

SHA dismantled Shelton High School on Thursday in a 6-0 shutout.

The Sharks got the scoring started early in this one with a goal from Julia Clerkin assisted by Maya Boyhen.  Brooke Muzyka added another score assisted by Mia Celentano to get SHA out to a 2-0 lead.
Mia Celentano, assisted by Julia Clerkin and Jianna Cohrs, also scored in the first half to give the Sharks a 3-0 lead at the break.
Jianna Cohrs was just getting started.  In the second half, Cohrs earned her first hat trick of the season putting three shots into the cage.  The goals were unanswered and took SHA to a 6-0 advantage.

In the end, SHA’s defense was dominant.  Led by eight saves by Paige Gambardella, including a diving stop on a penalty stroke, SHA help strong and did not allow a single score.

SHA will look to build on this all around effort as they take on the T-Birds of North Branford at home on Monday at 4:00.
