On a gloriously sunny, blue sky, summer-like Saturday morning, the Class of 2019 graduated from Sacred Heart Academy! One hundred and nineteen members of the class made that special trip across the stage of the Philip Paolella Recreational, Jr. Center into the ranks of Sacred Heart alumnae.
Commencement speaker and Advisory Council Chair, Sallie Vece DeMarsilis ’82 told the graduates, “I owe these walls a great deal of gratitude. I loved it here and I realize it more and more as time moves on. I consider myself very fortunate; much of that is because of the foundation built here at Sacred Heart Academy. A foundation which provided me a good and rewarding life, as well as the self-awareness to know what it took to get there.”
As has been done by many classes before, our newest grads gathered to toss their caps into the air and say goodbye to Sacred Heart at the conclusion of the ceremony. There were lots of hugs, smiles, and tears of joy as classmates then said goodbye to each other and to the Sacred Heart teachers they leave behind.
Congratulations to the newest members of the Sacred Heart alumnae family! You have left your mark and we expect great things.
