Sallie Vece DeMarsilis ’82, chair of the Sacred Heart Academy Advisory Council, will deliver this year’s Commencement Address. Sallie is senior vice president, chief financial officer and chief accounting officer of Movado Group, Inc., a publicly traded global watch company with more than ten brands in their portfolio.
Sallie is a cum laude graduate of Boston College Carroll School of Management and a certified public accountant.
Professionally, Sallie has made numerous advances in her career, working for companies such as Deloitte, Ann Taylor Stores, and The Warnaco Group. Inc. She advanced in the public accounting field early on, and also developed strong leadership skills, managing large groups of people and leading multiple projects. Eventually, she began accepting senior management positions, leading her to her current role at Movado.
Sallie has an extensive history of community involvement. She served as president of the New Haven Junior Chamber of Commerce, organized financial support for vendors and volunteers for the Volvo Tennis Tournament, and served as a member of her parish council. At Sacred Heart, Sallie served on the Advisory Council for three years as a member of the finance committee before becoming chair in 2018. She was also on the Ever Higher—TheCapital Campaign for Sacred Heart Academy Cabinet.
Sallie and her husband, John, live in North Haven. They are the parents of two daughters. Antea is currently in her third year at University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Sara is a chemistry teaching fellow at The Hotchkiss School as a participant in the Boarding School Teaching Residency program at the UPenn Graduate School of Education.
