Financial Aid Mission

Sacred Heart Academy seeks young women of strong character with a record of academic success who desire a value-centered education in the Catholic tradition. We believe in supporting the realization of this mission through the implementation of a financial aid program. The availability of school resources, the number of qualified applicants and overall budgetary constraints influence financial assistance decisions. Sacred Heart Academy is committed to providing available financial aid to as many eligible applicants as possible.

Financial Aid Application

For Class of 2022:  Class of 2022 applicants may apply for financial aid from August 1 until December 10, 2017. Incoming freshmen, Class of 2022, will receive their financial aid letter after January 15, 2018. 

For returning students: Sacred Heart Academy accepts financial aid applications for returning students between January 20, 2018 and March 30, 2018. Please note – you will not automatically receive aid for the upcoming school year if you received aid this year. Applications are required for each school year. Families applying for financial aid must complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FAST (Financial Aid for Student Tuition) by March 30, 2018. If your application is not submitted on-time or does not contain the required documentation, you may not be considered for financial aid. 

The Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST) program provides a need-based financial aid analysis service that includes an income verification process. All information from FAST remains confidential and is reviewed by the school.  After applying, you will mail tax documents (see address below) to FAST. Please do not send any originals, and do not fax or e-mail the tax information:

Please enter your name on the application exactly as it appears on your tax return. The online application process is self-guided.  You can partially complete an application and go back to it another time, if you don’t want to complete the application in one sitting.  If you have any questions about the application process, please call the FAST Call Center at 1-877-326-FAST (3278), open 24 hours a day.

The non-refundable application fee is $41, payable by Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. (Discover card is not accepted).  The application fee will be billed as Independent School Management (ISM).

If you are applying to other schools that use FAST for financial aid, the second application will cost $10. FAST will e-mail you a PIN number and personalized link to the second application.  You must use the PIN and link in the e-mail to apply to each additional school at a reduced rate of $10.   Please contact the FAST Call Center at 877-326-FAST (3278) if you need any assistance in applying to multiple schools.

Please use the FAST Quick Processing System to print a bar code page to mail with your tax documents. After you pay for your application, you will see the FAST Quick Processing screen. You can also log back into your application and click on the link “Quick Processing for Tax documents to be sent.”

The availability of school resources, the number of qualified applicants, and overall budgetary constraints influence financial aid decisions. Sacred Heart Academy is committed to providing available financial aid to as many eligible applicants as possible.

Only a portion of demonstrated need can be met. As families decide whether to accept a financial aid award it is important that they carefully consider their financial obligation for the remaining portion of tuition, as well as transportation and other incidental costs of attendance. In recent years, the awards have been between 5% and 50% of the cost of tuition.

Decisions regarding financial aid are made separately from the admissions process and financial aid applications are considered only after a student has been accepted and enrolled. We offer below a list of frequently asked questions regarding financial aid.

How will Financial Aid applications be evaluated?

The school utilizes Financial Aid for School Tuition or FAST as a tool for evaluating applications for Financial Aid. This program is widely used by private schools and is valued for its objective and thorough approach to Financial Aid. All Financial Aid applicants are required to apply online through FAST. FAST considers not only taxable and nontaxable income, but also other assets and factors that bear on a family’s ability to pay tuition, including home equity, other real estate, savings, liabilities, family size, age of parents, and number of children attending independent schools and colleges. Families are required to submit a signed copy of their 2015 federal income tax return, W-2 forms and all schedules. If applicable, all corporate and partnership/sole proprietorship forms must also be included All applications of both current and new families are evaluated using FAST. The Financial Aid Committee then meets and carefully weighs each family’s capacity to pay against the capacity of all other financial aid applicants. Sacred Heart Academy treats all information provided to FAST as confidential. The results are only known to members of the Financial Aid Committee.

  • Notification of Award: Mid January 2018 (Class of 2022) Early May 2018 (All Other Classes)


What documentation is needed for divorced or separated families?

The school requests that both natural parents provide financial information each year. In addition, if the custodial parent has remarried, the stepparent's financial information should be provided. In cases where one parent cannot comply, the custodial parent should submit a written explanation.

Whom should I contact if I have questions regarding the Financial Aid process?

If you have questions on the application itself please contact FAST directly. The company is available 24 hours a day to help with application questions or issues. If you have questions following the April notification deadline or have not heard back from Sacred Heart Academy regarding your application, please contact the Business Manager, Maria Cammarota.

Is the financial aid grant awarded for one year or multiple years?

Financial aid grants are awarded for a single school year. Families must re-apply each year and the amount of the grant may change dependent upon the demonstrated need of the family. If a student has an account indicating an outstanding tuition balance, parents must arrange for complete payment of the tuition owed before the student may re-enroll for the following school year and before a financial aid grant is awarded.
