Transportation Options

Buses

All transportation services are provided to and from the school entrance. The Town of Hamden provides bus service to Hamden residents living more than two miles from the school. Residents of other areas enter into private agreements with the bus companies.

• Connecticut Transit (the city bus) offers youth fare to all SHA students with the SHA personal ID card as identification. 
• All Star Transportation serves the valley area, including Oxford, Seymour, Ansonia, Derby, Woodbridge, Bethany, Orange, West Haven, New Haven (Westville section) and Milford.
• First Student Bus Company. serves the shoreline areas of North Branford, Branford, Guilford, Madison, Clinton, Westbrook, and Killingworth. Transportation is provided for school pick-up in the morning, at 3:00 p.m. and at 5:25 p.m.
• Winkle Bus Co. serves Fairfield, Trumbull, Bridgeport, Stratford, Huntington and parts of Milford.

Driving

Juniors and Seniors may drive to school and park in the student lot behind the school. A parking permit must be obtained from the Student Council; the fee is $25. Sophomores who have obtained their license may be granted parking permits if space allows.
