Sacred Heart Academy operates under what is known as a rotating block schedule, with four 80-minute classes each day in an A-F day cycle. Each class meets every-other day, (A-C-E or B-D-F) allowing each student the opportunity to do a thorough job on her homework and to have plenty of time for review between class meetings. Longer class periods allow teachers to utilize a variety of teaching styles, with the flexibility to vary lecture, discussion, individual attention, and group work—all within a single class period. The schedule, which includes a morning break, also ensures that classes don't meet at the same time each day, taking into consideration the variation in a teenager's attention span.
