The Admission Process

To apply to Sacred Heart Academy, you must complete the following steps:

1. Complete the online application form, both parent and student sections, and submit the application with the $60 admission fee payable online by credit card or by check or money order mailed to the Admissions Office. The application and fee must be received by November 3, 2014.

2. Print the Request for Release of Records form that must be signed by the parent or guardian of the applicant and forwarded to the office of the applicant's current school. The Request for Release of Records form is located on the left sidebar of this page under All Admissions Forms where it can be downloaded and printed.

3. Print the required English Teacher and Math Teacher Recommendation forms along with a Supplemental Recommendation form that is optional found on the left sidebar of this page. Please give each teacher the appropriate form along with a stamped envelope addressed to Admissions at Sacred Heart Academy. All recommendations are due to Sacred Heart Academy no later than December 1.

4. All students applying for grades 9 and 10 must take an Entrance Exam. This year, an entrance exam will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. We ask students to bring two sharpened #2 pencils. If there is an emergency or if the student is ill, kindly phone the school office at 203-288-2309 between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on the morning of the exam.

Interviews

Personal interviews are available, but not required as part of the admissions process. You may schedule an interview by phoning the Admissions Office at 203-288-2309, x307. One or both parents or guardians must accompany the candidate since both the candidate and the parents/guardians will be interviewed.

Notification of Acceptance

Acceptance to Sacred Heart Academy is based on all parts of your completed application along with results of the entrance exam, English and math teacher recommendations, and 6th, 7th, and 8th grade records.  Final consideration cannot be given until all records are received and the entrance exam is taken. All applicants are notified of the admissions committee's decision by mail.

To begin the online application, you will need to create a username and password. Any words or series of numbers may be used as your username. You may work on your application and save it in sections. Your information is transmitted through a secure server and kept confidential until you submit your completed application. Only after your application is submitted does it become available for review by Sacred Heart Academy's Admissions Committee.
